After our East coast vacation dreams to visit my boyfriend's family did not happen, we decided on a last minute spontaneous trip California and San Diego was recommended as just the place if we wanted to relax. Little did we know that we were going to fall in love with EVERYTHING California. We loved the ocean, the food, the people and most of all the lifestyle. We almost decided to change our flights to stay longer! We did as much as possible in the 5 days that we had, but San Diego is defiantly a place we will have to go back and do it all over again!
The Kona Kai resort & Spa was on shelter Island, Point Loma. It is a good 15 min away from downtown San Diego. What made this place a great vacation spot was that we didn't have to go far if we wanted to be near the water. There was so many water activities as well as biking, trolley hops and pool parties all week. The few things I did not like about our resort was how expensive the food and beverages were and they could maintain the property much better, but loved our room and the feel of the resort!
The resort had a great walk way by the ocean and we just couldn't get enough of the great view every morning!
San Diego nightlife can be found at the Gaslamp Quarter. This on stop shop of everything from night clubs, restaurants, lounges, pubs and lounges. This 16 1/2 block historic neighborhood is the ultimate entertainment spot in San Diego. We danced the night away every time we were there., hands down the best party spots and restaurants I have ever been too!
